Our Story

Some friends and I finished college together at the beginning of 2001. We used to get together often to talk about our jobs and plans for the future. People used to talk about jobs, business, and society. We don’t smoke or use drugs, but as students, we witnessed how drugs were harming our friends irreparably.

It was painful to see them in such a bad state that they couldn’t complete their work. This made us consider ways to prevent drug addiction in our society. The idea of “GREEN LIFE” took root at our table of ideas, and in the end, we decided to open “GREEN LIFE,” a center for treating and rehabilitating drug users.

People, families, and society can stay away from drugs if we are aware and pay close attention. This illness can be cured. With the right help at the right time, an offender can return to a normal family life. But don’t let the social scandal and shame that other people feel about the treatment take your attention away.

“GREEN LIFE” has been having protests, discussion groups, and handing out posters and leaflets to get people in society to speak out against drugs. “GREEN LIFE” wants to get people involved in making the country and society drug-free and healthy.

It’s true that addiction is a big problem for families and communities. It causes families to fall apart, society standards to decline, students’ studies to be interrupted or stopped, people to make less money, and more money to be wasted. It gets in the way of social growth. Addiction leads to early deaths, which puts families in a lot of financial trouble.

What is Drug Addiction?

Drug addiction is a complex issue, influenced by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. This condition affects genetics, brain chemistry, and is often exacerbated by traumatic experiences and stress. In Dhaka, you’ll find ‘GREEN LIFE,’ a well-established and specialized drug addiction rehabilitation center.

Our Comprehensive Treatment Approaches

At ‘GREEN LIFE,’ we’ve developed an integrative treatment system that encompasses detoxification (a medical approach) and a rehabilitation program. We provide various programs and therapies for individuals struggling with drug or alcohol issues. These include assessments, group therapy, individual counseling, and the popular 12-step program.

We employ scientifically developed methods that have proven to be more effective and productive in addiction treatment. Our team comprises leading psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, general physicians, and well-trained addiction professionals.

 Our treatment method

It is a full-fledged program for treating drug abuse, which looks like this:

  1. The process of getting off drugs (withdrawal time and evaluation) takes one month.
  2. The treatment and rehabilitation process (in-house program) lasts for two months.
  3. The follow-up method (building a relationship with family)

One month

(Extended by one to two months in certain situations, if needed.)

1. The process of getting off drugs -1 month

Step 1: During withdrawal (the first 1 to 15 days), when people stop using drugs, they have a lot of health problems, such as seizures, stomach pain, puking, body pain, headaches, and more. Our doctors are able to resolve these health issues. This time, there is no medicine to help people who are addicted to drugs get better.

Step 2: For the next 15 to 30 days, our doctors and therapists will work to fix the patient’s physical and mental problems, if they have any. After that, the recovery process starts.

2. Treatment & Rehabilitation process– 2 months

To help people get better at “GREEN LIFE,” the following steps are taken: * Stabilization * Motivation

* Help for families

  • Service after treatment

Please note that the well-known people who run “GREEN LIFE” also give patients advice based on their many years of experience.

They often share their thoughts with patients about family issues and the effects of different drugs.

3. The follow-up method (building a relationship with family) One month

It is part of medicine to follow up. It is very important for each patient to keep up with the follow-up process after their in-house therapy training is over. Within the set time frame of “GREEN LIFE,” the patient is freed from tasks that need to be done in the hospital and sent home to stay with family to build relationships with family and cousins.

The center and home are involved in this back-and-forth process. By the end of this process, the patient has become a “GREEN LIFE” recovery and has been given a recovery certificate. ‘GREEN LIFE’ is always happy to see a recovery. They are welcome to stay for free and talk about any wants they have.

Extended 1 to 2 months (in special case, if necessary)

Regarding this, when a patient took long time drugs and he faces both physically and mentally illness, in this case patient may need more time to cure. All depends upon patient health condition and advice of Psychiatric doctor, Psychologist, Programmers and Councilors. In this situation management of ‘GREEN LIFE’ inform family members and consult with them. Final decision is being taken with the consultation of both parties.
